title: Branding & your domain
description: Put your own name, logo, colours, and domain in front of your customers.
---

Branding is what makes the product yours. Set it before you invite anyone: your
customers see it from the sign-in screen onwards.

## Your product name

**Application name** is the name your customers see throughout the product — in
the interface, in the assistant's own answers, and in the email they receive.
Set it to the name you sell under.

Until you set it, the product falls back to a neutral label rather than ours.

## Logos and images

The portal takes several images, each used somewhere different:

| Image | Where it appears |
| --- | --- |
| **Header logo** | The navigation bar, on every screen. |
| **Login logo** | The sign-in page. |
| **Email logo** | Emails sent to your customers. |
| **Favicon** | The browser tab. |
| **Background image** | The sign-in page background. |

Upload the sizes each one asks for. A header logo scaled down from a large image
is the most common reason branding looks soft in the interface.

## Colours

Set your primary colour and the supporting colours. They drive buttons, links,
and highlights across the product, so a colour with poor contrast against white
will be hard to read in places you did not check — pick one you already use on
your own site.

## Your domain

Your customers sign in at your domain rather than ours. Enter the domain in the
portal and then **verify** it, which proves you control it. Until verification
succeeds the domain will not serve your branded product.

Verification can fail while DNS changes are still spreading; that can take some
time after you make the change. If it keeps failing, check the record was added
to the exact domain you entered, including or excluding `www` as you typed it.

## Legal links

Point the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service links at your own pages. When they
are set, your customers see yours; when they are not, the product hides them
rather than showing ours.

## Invoice appearance

If you bill your customers by invoice, the portal also styles the invoice
itself: your logo, a letterhead, your business address, a tax or registration
number, how to pay, and a footer note. See [Pricing & billing](./billing.md) for
when invoices are used at all.

## Test before you announce

Send a test email from the portal and open your domain in a private window. Both
show what a customer actually gets, which is not always what the settings page
suggests.
